Of the nearly 70,000 beauty salons in France, 602 are in default in the first half. This is an increase of 181% compared to 2021. A peak that could exceed that of 2015. The blame lies with increasingly strong competition, especially in medium-sized cities and metropolises, according to the president of the National Union of Hairdressing Companies, Christian Doré:

With rising energy costs and declining household purchasing power, hairdressers’ money is collapsing. To which are added the debts: almost one in ten salons has yet to return their PGE, granted during the Covid.
