Now you can start planning your Christmas holidays. It is this Wednesday, October 5, that the SNCF puts train tickets on sale for the New Year’s Eve celebrations, and more precisely for trips between December 11 and January 2, 2023.
According to the parisian, during this period 9 million TGV, Ouigo and Intercités tickets were offered, that is, one million more than last year. SNCF also plans to strengthen its offer by increasing frequencies on the Intercités Nantes-Lyon line and opening twelve new Ouigo destinations, including Brest via Saint-Brieuc, Guingamp and Morlaix, La Rochelle via Sugères and Niort and Perpignan via Montpellier, Sète, Agde, Béziers and Narbonne.
Book early to get the best rates
Ouigo tickets can be booked until July 7, 2023, while Europe tickets are available for departure until April 5. Please note, however, that tickets for Spain will only go on sale from October 18.
To benefit from the best prices, it is advisable to book as early as possible, even if it means changing your ticket a little later. In fact, the SNCF offers free exchange and return of a ticket up to three days before departure.
On the other hand, a deduction of 15 euros per person applies for trips on TGV Inoui in case of cancellation 2 days before departure. For Intercités with compulsory reservation, this penalty can reach up to 12 euros.
