“Italians are paying their debts”
The story of these Italian tourists who left without paying their bill made headlines in the Albanian media and on social media. The Italian Embassy in Albania confirmed this Friday that it had settled the 80-euro bill left unpaid by this group of four Italian tourists.
“On the recommendation of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, we have settled this invoice that a group of Italian tourists left unpaid in the city of Berat,” an embassy statement said. “Italians respect the rules and pay their debts, and we hope that this type of incident does not happen again.”
The rise in prices has been reflected this summer in an increase in the number of Italians who have decided to spend their holidays on the other side of the Adriatic.
