Practices, term redemptions, maternity… what the new pension reform decrees contain

Little by little the technical details of the pension reform, which will come into force on September 1, are becoming known.

Although the pension reform will enter into force on September 1, the implementing decrees, which specify the technical details of this or that measure, are gradually being published in the Official Gazette.

The latest batch covers points that directly affect various profiles. Panorama.

More affordable quarter redemptions

Often misunderstood, the device that allows you to buy up to 12 quarters, or three years of listing, has been expanded and is more accessible.

Thus, the accounting of the internships can be made up to 30 years, while previously the application had to be made a maximum of two years after the end of the internship. Suffice to say that no one did.

Considering higher education, once it has led to a degree, also allows quarters to be earned. From now on, the reform makes it possible to apply up to the age of 40.

Finally, an implementing decree provides, as planned, to double the quarters that high-level athletes can validate in relation to their activity.

A bonus for some mothers

Mothers who have accumulated 43 years of contributions (remember that maternity and raising children give rise to free rooms) one year before the new legal retirement age (64) will benefit from an additional pension of up to 5%. .

Thus, each quarter worked from the age of 63 will give rise to a bonus of 1.25% for each additional quarter of contribution, that is, a maximum of 5% if the mother in question is active until the age of 64.

Works of collective utility subject to rights

The TUC are an integration contract aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 25 and which were applied between 1984 and 1990. They were exempt from pension contributions and therefore from rights. The reform provides that the beneficiaries of this contract will obtain rooms, the number of which has yet to be specified.

More than a million people would be concerned, but the National Old Age Insurance Fund stresses that it has no trace of these contracts. Beneficiaries must manifest themselves through a specific online service.

“Young volunteer” courses, initiation courses to professional life and local integration programs should also generate rights. Again, you will have to use this online service to claim them.
