The International Energy Agency (IEA) warns against a delay in climate ambitions that would lead the world to resort massively to CO2 capture technologies, although they are “expensive” and have not yet been tested on a large scale.
The international organization stresses that such a “delayed action” scenario would make the world dependent “on the massive deployment of carbon capture technologies that are expensive and have not yet proven effective on a large scale,” according to the update of its roadmap for Carbon neutrality in 2050, published Tuesday.
