The food delivery and shopping platform Frichti, which was in receivership, has just been acquired by a French competitor, La Belle Vie, which has committed to retaining 168 of its approximately 400 employees, the company said Wednesday. purchaser’s address.

“We maintain Frichti’s cuisine and the quality of products that have made it successful, but we changed the delivery model: we do not have dark stores,” La Belle Vie co-founder Alban Wienkoop told AFP.

To this end, La Belle Vie has a 1,300 m² kitchen laboratory in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) and a 4,700 m² Parisian warehouse “that comply with the PLU (local urban plan, editor’s note)”, according to the public takeover offer. that AFP consulted. The government had decreed that “dark stores” – those premises where the products to be delivered are stored – were warehouses and not businesses, opening the way for the regulation of this activity by the town councils, and even the closure of certain premises. The German Flink and the Turkish Getir (Gorillas, Getir and Frichti) then announced that they were leaving the French market. Frichti, Gorillas and Getir were declared syndicated before the Paris commercial court in March and the latter two entities were subsequently liquidated.

La Belle Vie, created in 2015 by Paul Lê and Alban Wienkoop and which today employs 376 employees, is committed to “abandoning the specific methods and models of ‘fast commerce’, which have shown their limits,” according to Recovery’s offer.

The French company, which has just signed two contracts with the Grande Epicerie of Paris (LVMH group), intends to expand the Frichti catalogue, which would go from 1,000 available products to 6,000. The buyers acquired Frichti for 30,000 euros and have made a provision of 450,000 euros to recover shares. They also preserve 14 of the 18 restaurants of the Frichti company. More than 160 employees will keep their jobs in Ile-de-France, but employees in Lille, Nantes, Bordeaux, Lyon, Aix-en-Provence, Grenoble and Toulouse will be laid off, that is, around 200 people.

In 2022, Frichti’s turnover amounted to 69 million euros, the buyers recalled in their offer. That of La Belle Vie amounted to 42 million euros in 2022. At the end of June 2023 it reached 28 million euros, 30% more than the previous year.
