Pensions: Le Pen asks the opposition to block the tax on Agirc-Arrco reserves

The president of the RN group in the National Assembly denounces “illegitimate” and “unreasonable” looting by the government.

This Thursday, Marine Le Pen asks the different oppositions in the National Assembly in a forum to block the Government in its desire to withdraw between 1,000 and 3,000 million euros from the surpluses of the Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension plan.

The executive demands between 1,000 and 3,000 million dollars annually from Agirc-Arrco until 2030, which he first presented as a participation in the increase in small pensions provided for by his pension reform, to finally evoke a duty of “solidarity” between regimes with a view to a general “return to equilibrium”. Otherwise, he threatens to keep the coffers, despite opposition from the unions.

“Illegitimate” and “unreasonable” looting

“This looting is not only illegitimate, but also unreasonable. Taking between 1,000 and 3,000 million euros for the benefit of the State would permanently unbalance Agirc-Arrco without taking into account the prudential standards that must be imposed on its management,” writes Marine Le Pen in a column published Thursday night on the website of the Figaro.

This will of the government would be a way to “compensate for its mistake” after the pension reform, says the president of the RN group in the Assembly, who therefore calls on parliamentarians to “go beyond partisan divisions to defend the interest general and to resolutely oppose any withdrawal of Agirc-Arrco reserves.

Complementary pensions for former private sector employees will increase by 4.9% from November 1, in line with inflation, following an agreement between the union and the employers’ organizations that manage the Agirc-Arrco plan. Agirc-Arrco pays around 90 billion euros each year to 13 million retirees. This additional part represents between 20% and 60% of the total pension depending on the person.
