In a statement sent, the oil and gas giant indicated that its priority was “the safety of our teams, the populations of the places where we operate, the protection of the environment and our facilities.”
Chevron suspended activities at its Tamar offshore gas platform, located off the Israeli coast, following instructions from the Israeli government following the Hamas offensive, the US group reported on Monday.
“Our priority is the safety of our teams, the population of the places where we operate, the protection of the environment and our facilities,” the oil and gas giant added in a statement sent by a spokesperson.
