Housing. Porta 65 allocation more than 6% to 37 million

The government proposes to increase the allocation for the Porta 65 program by 6% to 37 million euros in 2024. Porta 65+ will have a budget of four million euros.

The proposed state budget for 2024 (OE2024), presented to the Assembly of the Republic on Tuesday, foresees a budgetary impact of 37 million euros to support approximately 26,000 young people per year in paying the rent for their permanent housing.

The Porta 65 program is intended for citizens aged 18 and over and under 35 years of age. In a young couple, one of the members may be a maximum of 36 years old and the other a maximum of 34 years old.

Unlike what happened before, applications for the program will continue throughout the year.

Porta 65+, established within the framework of Mais Habitação to accommodate households with an income drop of more than 20% or single-parent families, will have a budget of four million euros registered in OE2024.

Applications for Porta 65+ are still ongoing. Households with a loss of income must demonstrate a 20% decrease compared to the previous three months or the same period of the previous year.
