Towards the end of the conflict in Esso? According to the group’s management, “two major unions”, the CFE-CGC and the CFDT, indicated this Monday “that they are signatories of the salary agreement proposed by the management.” “Esso management is creating the conditions that should allow its refineries to restart by proposing significant advances,” the oil company added in a press release.
At the request of the Government, Esso brought together the four union organizations that represent the workforce to try to put an end to the social movement for wages that has paralyzed the group’s two refineries since September 21.
During this meeting, the management confirmed the maintenance of the “salary improvement draft agreement formulated on September 26: salary package of 6.5% in 2023 accompanied by a value distribution bonus of 3,000 euros”. He also proposed assigning “a single bonus for mobility and transportation” for 2023 to help employees “cope with rising fuel prices.”
Esso “requests an unlock of its production sites”
“Two unions, the CFE-CGC and the CFDT, which together represent the majority of the company’s staff, have indicated that they are signatories to the proposed agreement. In these unusual circumstances, management thanks the signatories for their constructive spirit and commitment, Esso said in a statement.
For this reason, the group’s management “requests the unlocking of its production centers in order to allow the conditions for a safe restart of the facilities and the shipment of products.”
