Israel said on Saturday, October 4, preparing for a rapid release of hostages held by Hamas after the positive response of the Palestinian Islamist movement to Gaza’s peace plan proposed by Donald Trump.
“After Hamas’ response, Israel is preparing for the immediate implementation of the first stage of the Trump plan for the release of all hostages,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a statement.
Hamas said he was ready for immediate negotiations on Friday for the release of Israeli hostages selected in Gaza and the end of the war, as part of the plan proposed by Donald Trump. The latter provides a high fire, the launch within 72 hours of the hostages retained in the Gaza Strip, the disarmament of Hamas and the stages withdrawal of the Israeli army.
The proposal also establishes the establishment of a transition authority supervised by Donald Trump and the deployment of an international force.
“Israel must immediately stop the bombings in Gaza”
In his social network of truth, the US president judged that the Palestinian Islamist movement “was ready for lasting peace” after two years of war.
“Israel must immediately stop the bombings in Gaza, so that we can take the hostages quickly and safely,” added the US president.
Hamas said he was ready to negotiate immediately with the objective of liberation from hostages, the end of the Israeli withdrawal of Gaza, but did not mention the key issue of his own disarmament.
Many international leaders have welcomed Hamas’ announcement.
The launch of the hostages and a high fire are “in hand”, significantly tried to French president Emmanuel Macron, the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, saying “encouraged.”
Hamas agrees to trust the handle of gaza to a Palestinian body
Donald Trump had given Hamas until Sunday 6 pm Washington time, 10 PM GMT or 1 hour on Monday in Gaza, to accept his proposal, that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he said.
In case of rejection, the American leader had promised “hell” in Hamas, shortly after a telephone conversation with the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who had considered “crucial” a trial of the Israeli strikes.
In his response, Hamas said he was ready to free all living hostages and make the bodies of deceased hostages, in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, as well as for immediate negotiations about the “details” of these releases.
Of 251 people kidnapped during Hamas attack against Israel on October 7, 2023, which caused the war, 47 are still hostage in Gaza, 25 of which died according to the Israeli army.
Hamas has also reaffirmed his agreement to trust the management of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body composed of independent “technocrats”, specifying that other questions about the future of the territory should be discussed in a Palestinian environment “in which Hamas will participate and contribute in a responsible manner.”
Israel, who has promised to destroy Hamas, has always rejected any role in the postwar period for the Palestinian movement, which took power in Gaza in 2007.
