The Competition Authority announced this Wednesday that it had carried out “unannounced hearings” with companies “suspected” of anti-competitive practices, which operate in the production and marketing sectors of food and non-food products, without naming them.
“The investigation services of the Competition Authority have carried out [mardi] to unannounced hearings with companies suspected of having applied anti-competitive practices in the sector of production and marketing of food and non-food consumer products,” the press release states.
“At this time, these interventions obviously do not prejudge the guilt of the companies affected by the alleged practices, which only an investigation into the substance will make it possible to determine, if applicable,” it adds. The Competition Authority specifies that “it will not make any further comments on the identity of the affected companies or on the practices pursued.”
