Minutes after Bruno Le Maire called on TotalEnergies to grant a salary increase, the oil group announced the allocation of an exceptional bonus equivalent to one month’s salary for all its employees worldwide. The company released a press release the day after its meetings with representative unions during which the issues of “2023 salary increases” and “shared value given excellent 2022 results” were discussed.
A possible increase in wages indexed to inflation
In this press release, the management of TotalEnergies details the conditions of this exceptional bonus that will be paid in December “subject to the salary agreements of the different countries and corresponding subsidiaries”.
The bonus could also be accompanied by salary increases for the year 2023 that would be determined based on inflation for the year 2022.
The management points the finger at the CGT
If TotalEnergies seems to take a step towards its striking workers through this statement, the company’s management nevertheless recalls that “the conditions to organize negotiations between the representative organizations do not exist, the CGT having decided to maintain the blockades.”
“This morning we verified the lack of progress in the release of shipments to deposits and refineries, regrets the company, which indicates that it had conditioned the start of the negotiations only to the lifting of the blockade of shipments and not to the strike at the refineries. to “be able to supply the stations from stocks in the interest of the French”.
