Agricultural Hall: Young Farmers ask for “actions” but “no harm”

The president of Young Farmers (JA) called for “awareness-raising actions” during the inauguration of Emmanuel Macron’s Agricultural Show this Saturday, but “no harm”.

Farmers are eagerly awaiting Emmanuel Macron. The President of the Republic will inaugurate the traditional Agricultural Exhibition on Saturday in Paris, in a turbulent context of discontent among farmers, who demand compliance with the Government’s promises.

The latter’s reception of Emmanuel Macron “will be filled with a lot of waiting”, confirmed this Tuesday morning by the president of the Young Farmers (JA), Arnaud Gaillot, on TF1.

“No damage”

For the head of the agricultural union, “we cannot have a ‘normal’ Agricultural Fair, as if nothing had happened in recent weeks and everything was going well.” “We need to raise awareness, we need to show that farmers are waiting” for answers, he said. But “we must respect the spectacle”, continued Arnaud Gaillot, asking not to “take the event hostage.” “The fair should not suffer any damage, because it is also our showcase for agriculture,” he said.

Between now and Saturday, “we must still maintain” pressure on the Government because “the account is not there,” stated the president of the JA. “Things are moving forward, it would be dishonest to say that nothing is happening. It is working, it is moving forward slowly, but in certain areas it is still difficult to change mentality,” he stressed.
