Immediate kickback at the Casino. The group had sent letters to nearly 900 employees to request salary advances paid in the 1990s, information revealed on Thursday morning, March 28, by France Bleu.
The Casino group, bought by Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky, wanted to recover these sums before the final sale of its stores. But in the afternoon the company changed course and the new management told France Bleu “to give up on recovering the excessive payments.”
Advances of 30 years
Initially, the group accepted his decision. “The document that formalizes the salary advance provides for its expiration at the time of the employee’s departure. A regularization that is carried out in the last payroll,” he told France Bleu, before backtracking.
Nearly 900 employees were affected by these reimbursement requests, sent by mail and reported by unions, according to France Bleu. These salary advances date back to the 1990s, when several companies were purchased, and ranged from a few hundred to a few thousand euros, according to local media.
