Isn’t France going too fast with too few means in the energy transition? At BFM Business, Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, ranted to recall the climate and economic challenges of this strategy.
The Economy Minister believes that France and Europe must “accelerate the construction” of their “energy independence”.
“Clash of Money in Vain”
Bruno Le Maire recalls the two challenges of the energy transition. The climate that is “an absolute emergency”, but also the economic policies directly linked to this situation.
Europe crushed between China and the United States
To speed up the process, the Government has announced aid so that households can switch from a thermal vehicle to an electric one. For the most modest, the subsidy will increase from 6,000 to 7,000 euros. At the Paris Motor Show, Emmanuel Macron confirmed the launch of a leasing at 100 euros per month for the acquisition of a small electric car.
This offer could be reserved for vehicles built in Europe. Bruno Le Maire declares himself “favorable” to these measures. And for him, “this is not the end of globalization, but a new globalization.”
