Eurozone: inflation rises to 10.7% in October, a new record

This is a new historical record according to the official Eurostat institute. It was 9.9% in September.

New historical inflation record in the euro zone. According to Eurostat, it rose to 10.7% in October in one year. It was 9.9% in September.

Energy prices rose by 41.9%, after +40.7% in September. Those of food, alcohol and tobacco increased by 13.1% in one year, those of industrial goods without energy by 6.0% and those of services by 4.4%, Eurostat specifies in a press release.

Core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food products, also accelerated to +6.4% in a year from 6.0% in the previous month.

An even narrower measure, which also excludes alcohol and tobacco, rose 5.0% after +4.8%.
