Consob, the Italian stock exchange regulator, has approved the planned acquisition of Unieuro, the leading distributor of household appliances and electronics in Italy, by Fnac Darty, according to a statement from the French group published on Friday.
Fnac Darty announced on 16 July that it wanted to buy Unieuro, listed on the Milan Stock Exchange. The Italian company employs 5,000 people in just over 500 stores and has an annual turnover of 2.6 billion euros.
Unieuro is currently valued at €239 million on the Milan Stock Exchange. The press release reports “Consob’s approval of the offer document” and specifies that the offer period is open from 2 September to 25 October 2024.
The Fnac Darty group, present in Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Tunisia, Qatar, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Congo, Senegal and Saudi Arabia, employs 25,000 people in a thousand stores.
