Medef chief Patrick Martin points to a “mood of concern” among employers

The president of the business union believes that although the indicators are reassuring, the context is causing anxiety.

The bosses are not calm. Patrick Martin, a guest of BFM Business on August 27, reminds us: business leaders are worried about macroeconomic conditions, the vagueness of the political situation and its possible consequences.

The latest activity indicators, the PMI, indicated a recovery in private sector activity, the strongest in 18 months. The composite PMI index stood at 52.7 in August (50 being the threshold above which activity develops).

Alarming situations

The representative mentioned specific situations that were more complicated than others.
