GL Events is rubbing its hands with glee. The events specialist, which has provided temporary stands, electrified spaces and even equipped the Palace of Versailles for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, has seen its revenues soar.
At BFM Business, its president, Olivier Ginon, is delighted with “an activity volume of 360 million euros for the Olympic Games with a contribution to local subcontracting of more than 170 million. The Olympic Games have taken us to the top.”
Removable and reusable equipment.
Olivier Ginon also highlights the sustainable approach of the equipment used: “Our group has been working for many years on the idea that we have to assemble and disassemble the goods, preserve them, send them to other events and reuse them for the next ten or twenty years.
GL Events has finally turned the black page of the Covid years (with results halved) and has achieved a turnover of 820.6 million euros in the first six months of 2024, an increase of 19%, and a net profit of 45 million (+11%).
The next challenge is to sell this experience to the organisers of the next Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA. “We will do everything to be present because the market will be very important,” stresses Olivier Ginon.
