Alstom to modernise automated shuttles at Las Vegas airport

The $84 million contract includes modernizing the computer system and delivering new trains.

New contract in the United States for Alstom. The French manufacturer announces the signing of a contract with the Clark County Aviation Department (Nevada) for the delivery of ten new automated shuttles and the improvement of the shuttle system at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.

The transaction is valued at $84 million (€76 million) and Alstom plans to complete the project by the end of 2027.

“The project will provide an enhanced experience for passengers and staff at a time when demand continues to increase at Harry Reid International Airport, which will see an all-time high of 57.6 million passengers in 2023,” the company said.

Present in Las Vegas since 1985

Specifically, Alstom is responsible for the design, engineering, supply, integration, testing and commissioning of a comprehensive upgrade of the Green and Blue Line system at the international airport from Las Vegas.

“Alstom will also supply the new Innovia APM-R shuttles, which feature cutting-edge technology. They offer exceptional advantages such as improved fuel efficiency, higher top speed and a lightweight aluminium chassis. The shuttles will be manufactured in the United States,” the manufacturer specifies.

The firm has been present in Las Vegas for a long time, its first contract dating back to 1985.

Last year, Alstom also won a modernization contract with Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (Texas) for its Skylink airport transportation system.
