Budget 2025: Matignon sent the documents requested by the Finance Committees

The president of the National Assembly’s Finance Committee, Eric Coquerel (LFI), and the rapporteur-general, Charles de Courson (Liot), had been requesting these documents for several weeks.

These are essential documents for the preparation of the next budget. The Prime Minister’s services confirmed on Thursday that they had transmitted to the Finance Committees of the National Assembly and the Senate “the budget documents prepared by the resigning government” with a view to the Finance Bill for 2025.

These documents, which were forwarded to the presidents and general rapporteurs of the two chambers, Eric Coquerel and Charles de Courson, had been vigorously requested by these parliamentarians for several days. The chairman of the Finance Committee of the Assembly confirmed that it had received the documents, without specifying whether the request had been complied with.

Documents requested for several weeks.

On Wednesday, shortly after 13:00, the president of the National Assembly’s Finance Committee, Eric Coquerel (LFI), and the general rapporteur, Charles de Courson (Liot), left Bercy once again empty-handed. The latter left the Ministry of Finance without having been given the ceiling cards for the 2025 budget, which they were denied access to on Tuesday in Matignon.

These documents were communicated to the ministries in August by the resigning government, but not to the Finance Committee officials who had been requesting them ever since. Matignon had been given an ultimatum: if they did not receive them by Monday, they would go and collect them themselves.
