Sneakers, Bibles, costume scraps and coins: items that Trump offers for sale

Donald Trump made his fortune in real estate, but the Republican presidential hopeful is now offering a collection of, to say the least, unusual items for sale.

The former president began selling Bibles, “his favorite book,” on the Internet around Easter. According to a financial document detailed by bbcThe latter is said to have accumulated $300,000 (272,000 euros) in just a few months through the sale of these same Bibles.

“We must restore America’s faith,” he said in a video, a nod to the signature slogan of his presidential campaigns, “Make America Great Again.”

Donald Trump, who has stepped up his appeals in evangelical circles since his election in 2016, strongly encouraged his followers to obtain a copy of the holy book, sold for $59.99.

They are distributed in collaboration with the famous conservative musician Lee Greenwood, whose hit “God Bless the USA” punctuates every one of Donald Trump’s rallies.

“Wrestling” sneakers

For $299, the billionaire’s followers will also be able to treat themselves to a pair of sneakers commemorating the first assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

On these white shoes adorned with the American flag, the septuagenarian is depicted with his fist raised and his ear bleeding, as if after being shot in mid-July.

Below, in blue capital letters, the message “Lucha!”, “¡Lucha!”, “¡Lucha!” (“Fight!”), in reference to the words spoken by the candidate after being injured, which became a battle cry within his base.

Like the Bibles, these sneakers are being distributed as part of a paid partnership with Donald Trump that, in theory, should not be used to fund his campaign.

Pieces and pieces of the costume.

This summer, Donald Trump also began distributing small pieces of the costume he wore during his televised debate against Democratic President Joe Biden in June. It was after his disastrous performance that the octogenarian leader threw in the towel in favor of Kamala Harris.

For $1,485, “you can own a very tangible piece of presidential history,” boasts the website, which offers these pieces of fabric attached to trading cards. “It’s something you can give to your family, your children, your grandchildren!” Donald Trump exclaims in a video.

Finally, Donald Trump announced over the weekend the creation of silver coins with his image, available for purchase starting Wednesday. These pieces, sold at $100 each, are “a true symbol of the greatness of the United States,” said the former tenant of the White House in a post on social media.

Head side: An image of the White House, surrounded by the U.S. national motto “In God We Trust.” Obverse: The head of the 45th President of the United States.

“I’ve seen a lot of coins in circulation that use my beautiful face,” Donald Trump said in a video. “But these are not official documents.” Of course, they cannot be used as a means of payment.
