The government has introduced a support of 10 cents per liter for colored and marked diesel consumed in 2021, the agriculture minister announced today.
During her speech at a parliamentary hearing, Maria do Céu Antunes emphasized creating support “for fuel costs in agriculture of 0.10 euros per litre”.
This support will cover approximately 140,000 farmers.
In a statement, the Ministry of Agriculture said that this aid, signed with the social partners, would be disbursed “in one instalment” until the end of the year.
Holders of colored and marked diesel fuel cards issued by the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DGARD) and registered in the IB database — Beneficiary identification can benefit from this support.
Maria do Céu Antunes, quoted in the same note, considered that this aid is “relevant for the stability of agricultural activity”, as it is intended to mitigate the increase in production costs related to fuels.
