A party that ends in tragedy. At least nine people, including minors, were injured during a shooting at a party in the state of Ohio in the United States this Sunday, November 2, according to ABC News, citing authorities.
The events occurred during a birthday party that took place in a large house rented on Airbnb. “A large crowd” was present at this party, which was previously promoted on social media, according to Vito Sinopoli, police chief for Bath Township, where the shooting took place.
No arrests
He stated that minors and adults were injured and taken to the hospital, without the seriousness of their injuries being truly known until now.
According to the same source, most of the victims suffered gunshot wounds. Only one person was injured after falling while trying to escape from the house.
No arrests have yet been made. “We do not yet have a precise indication of the number of people who could be responsible, but we have confirmed the presence of several bullet casings inside the residence,” Vito Sinopoli said during a press conference.
“A scene of chaos”
According to initial investigations, it appears that most of the shootings took place on the first floor of the house. “Upon arrival, our officers observed a scene of chaos and provided first aid to the injured,” the police chief also said.
The authorities asked participants to send them photographs and videos taken during the night to advance the investigation and arrest those responsible.
