“I’m not talking to you. I want to talk to someone responsible.” These are the comments that a Transavia flight attendant allegedly made to actor and director Dominique Farrugia at Orly airport. A humiliating exchange directly related to the actor’s situation as a person with reduced mobility (PMR), who suffers from multiple sclerosis and now uses an electric wheelchair.
“I live my life as a PMR. In Orly 3, a Transavia ground stewardess who sees me with my electric wheelchair says to me: ‘What is that?’ I try to answer and she says: ‘No Talk to you, I want to talk with someone responsible,’” the actor transcribed on X (formerly Twitter).
Contacted by BFM Business, the company stated that it had “been in contact with Mr. Farrugia first to apologize on behalf of the company and then to discuss with him this abnormal situation that does not reflect Transavia’s values.”
“We are conducting internal investigations”
“At the same time, we are carrying out internal investigations to accurately understand this situation and make appropriate decisions,” adds Transavia.
Finally, the Air France subsidiary recalls that it “ensures that people with reduced mobility are well received through a specialized service at the time of booking and close coordination with the airport teams for reception on the day of travel.”
