The confrontation between Europe and the United States is inevitable since the announcement by Washington of the IRA (Inflation Reduction Act) that has a budget of 367,000 million euros to encourage production and job creation in the United States. On Monday, on BFMTV, Bruno Le Maire cited a case that illustrates the tensions with the United States and the power of the IRA. For more than a year, Bercy has been arguing with a company specializing in electric vehicles whose name is not mentioned. This company wants to invest and create 5,000 jobs in France, so it offers a subsidy of one billion euros.
For the Minister of Economy, “we must show the greatest firmness with our American friends,” the minister warns.
