An authentic gastronomic institution of Narbonne and France, Les Grands Buffets was designed by Louis Privat more than 30 years ago. The restaurant is today a place of choice to discover all the emblematic dishes of French cuisine in one place.
A unique all-you-can-eat buffet concept that caught the attention of Liste, the global guide to the best culinary addresses. Les Grands Buffets received the special award for Authenticity and Craftsmanship, which rewards the commitment of Louis Privat and his team to preserving and enhancing French culinary heritage.
3.5 days of work, 3.5 days of rest
But this is not the only announcement that marked this highlight moment for Les Grands Buffets. The restaurant has also presented a new internal organization for 2025: its maître d’s, chefs and waiters will now have a working week reduced to 3.5 days with 3.5 days off. All this while maintaining some of the highest salaries in the sector.
The institution had already decided to adopt the 35-hour week in 1998, two years before Lionel Jospin’s reform in 2000 that made it mandatory in France. Les Grands Buffets also highlights the maintenance of the level of salaries and bonuses of its staff during the closures caused by the health crisis, but also the fact of reviewing salaries every six months to guarantee a fairer inflation indexation.
