The armed forces will receive monthly increases from 52 to 104 euros next year, to which the military condition surcharge will be added, the Ministry of National Defense announced on Tuesday.
“Next year, the armed forces and militarized servicemen will have monthly increases between 52 euros and 104 euros, adding the military fitness allowance. They are low and are in the 2% for higher wage levels”reads a statement from the Ministry of National Defense sent to the press.
The Secretary of State for Defense, Marco Capitão Ferreira, this Tuesday met with the professional associations of the army and militarized – with the exception of the National Association of Sergeants, with whom he will meet on Friday – “as part of the consultation associations on salary increases in Defense and that “was preceded by consultation with the chiefs of staff”.
“Given a concrete response to healthcare with lower salaries, the increases in pay levels in the enlisted category, for example, will have a positive effect on about 8,000 military personnel,” the note reads.
The management believes that it has given the associations an “honest and balanced answer”.
“In addition to this response to cyclical needs, in 2023 the Ministry of National Defense will carry out an evaluation of measures that will allow the valorization of the career of National Defense, while continuing to count on the contributions of professional associations of the military and militarized “they add.
These values are identical to those foreseen for public administration.
At the end of October, the agreement on salary and career in public administration was signed, until the end of the term of office, between the government and two unions of the UGT: Fesap and STE.
This agreement, which was not signed by the Frente Comum, of the CGTP-IN, provides, among other things, for an update of the basic remuneration of the public administration to 761.58 euros in 2023, a forecast of an annual salary update equal to a salary level ( 52 euros) or at least 2% for all civil servants until 2026, as well as a global increase guarantee of at least 208 euros for the next four years.
