BFM Awards 2022: Guillaume Faury (Airbus), winner of the grand prize for Manager of the Year

Airbus Chief Executive Guillaume Faury is the winner of the Manager of the Year grand prize at the 18th BFM Awards.

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury won the Manager of the Year grand prize on Tuesday at the 18th BFM Awards in BFM business. The award was presented to him by Bernard Charlès, CEO of Dassault Systèmes and winner of the same award in the previous edition, and Gabriel Attal, Minister Delegate in charge of Public Accounts.

Joined Airbus in 1998

Former Airbus number two, Guillaume Faury succeeded Tom Enders at the helm of the European aircraft manufacturer in April 2019. This aviation enthusiast joined the group in 1998 at Airbus Helicopters (formerly Eurocopter), before joining the automotive sector in 2009 as a member of the PSA board of directors and, since 2010, director of research and development. He returned to Airbus Helicopters in 2013, where he led until 2018, when he was appointed President of Airbus SAS.

Airbus must now manage the delicate green transition of the aviation sector, even as global traffic is expected to more than double by 2050. The European aircraft manufacturer is working on decarbonising its planes and working on its first aircraft powered by hydrogen, which it hopes to put into service by 2035.
