Amazon announced, on Wednesday, April 23, that its workforce now exceeded 25,000 permanent employees, after 25 years of presence in France.
“We have created 25,000 jobs in 25 years, therefore, 1,000 jobs per year (…) on average” since the establishment of the group in France in 2000, said Frédéric Duval, Managing Director of Amazon France.
The only creative network company in France in France
The American online trade giant, which has invested more than 25 billion euros since 2010 in France, specifies in a press release “to have become the first net creator of jobs in France during the period” according to employment and investment in France of the Trendeo firm.
In total, throughout 2025, the Amazon France tables in the creation of more than 1,200 permanent works.
After 25 years of presence in France, “we continue to develop,” said Frédéric Duval, particularly mentioning a new giant logistics platform “currently on construction next to Lyon,” whose site began in 2024.
This project is an investment of more than 1.2 billion euros announced in May 2024 at the last summit of France, organized by the Executive to attract foreign investments, and also included the development of the infrastructure of Amazon web services (AWS) in the Paris region, in the context of generative development of AI.
