SNCF: almost normal traffic is expected for the last day of the strikers strike

An SNCF group spokesman indicates that Transilien, Ter and Interités normally circulated, while traffic was 96% normal in TGV on Saturday, the company provides “the same on Sunday.”

The SNCF plans low interruptions on Sunday, with more than nine out of ten TGV in France, for the last day of the strikers strike during this weekend of bridge of 8 in May. The traffic is “little disturbed” this weekend, according to a spokesman for the Communication Management of the SNCF Group. “The Transilien (Parisian suburban trains), the (regional trains) and intercatized that normally circulated and the traffic was 96% normal in TGV on Saturday. We planned the same on Sunday,” said the same source. The mobilization of the strikers, “very strong” on Saturday, should “fall a little on Sunday”, according to the South-Rail Union.

Despite this mobilization, the SNCF also presents a strike rate that exceed 60% on Saturday, the public group had assured that all travelers could “travel the day scheduled for their destination.” The South-Rail Union and a collective of controllers called National Asct Collective (CNA) requested a strike on May 9, 10 and 11 to claim an increase in their work premium and a better anticipation of the schedules, too frequently modified in the last minute according to them.

South-rail must take stock “at the beginning of the week”

Most trains can work thanks to the deployment of volunteers, company executives, who have received special training for a day to replace striking controllers in trains. For South-Rail, this is not enough to explain the low traffic disturbances: “The SNCF has tried to invisible the strike, by imposing a degraded transport plan, with simple TGV units of 500 people instead of the usual double trains during the influx periods, which require more controllers,” according to Fabien Villedieu.

In early May, the CEO of SNCF travelers Christophe Fanichet had said “thousands of reservations less for this May 8th bridge” in the anticipation of the strike. Stating that he had “given” all his chance of social dialogue “with” more than 35 meetings “, he promised to” give legality over the weekly rest of the TGV bosses, at six months and not three months “, but excluded an increase in remuneration. Sud’s rent should be attacked” early next week “about the possible continuous that will be given to the movement.

Call for CGT-CHEMINOTS strike during the first half of June

Earlier this week, a driver strike in the CGT-CHEMINOTS Call, the first union organization in the SNCF, caused interruption in the regional lines in several regions, such as Hauts-de-France or Ile-de-France. According to SNCF travelers, “approximately nine out of ten smooth ones will have circulated in France (during this strike), and around eight trans lines in ten, with disparities according to the regions or lines.”

The CGT-CHEMINOTS have already planned a continuation of the mobilization: he appealed to the strike on June 4 for the drivers, outside a round table dedicated to the premium from which they benefit, on June 5 for all categories of railway workers, with claims related to wages or the improvement of working conditions, and on June 11 for the controllers.
