Boeing can turn off the relief: China has authorized its airlines to receive the US plane manufacturer, according to the information revealed by Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources. The devices were blocked in the United States, waiting for Beijing’s green light to be able to surrender to Chinese customers.
Boeing had even warned that I was ready to find other customers for unmarried devices, says Bloomberg.
The resumption of deliveries will allow Boeing to avoid continuing storing airplanes for Chinese clients (airlines and cargo, lease companies). The American aircraft manufacturer’s order book indicated 130 aircraft ordered on March 31, 2025. According to AFP, Boeing planned to deliver 50 planes to China in 2025.
The direct impact of the commercial war
This announcement occurs when China and the United States published a joint statement earlier this week after a weekend of intense negotiations. The two countries have reversed and announced a partial suspension of customs duties: from 145 to 30% on the American side, from 125 to 10% on the Chinese side.
If this announcement will allow the resumption of deliveries, the time is counted: the suspension has acted for 90 days.
The Chinese market is expected to represent 20% of the global demand in the next 20 years, says Bloomberg. A significant commercial perspective for Boeing, a quarter of the production of which was the final destination of China in 2018, specifies the news agency. However, in recent years, the aircraft manufacturer has not received significant orders.
