SANDSTORM AND CORK: this Swedish company behind the incredible Louane show in Eurovision

The Sweden 703 company studied worked with the singer Louane in the scene of his performance in Eurovision 2025. A technical feat in an attempt to imitate a sandstorm with … Liège.

Will Louane cause a storm of emotions with the spectators? The French singer, who represents France in Eurovision this Saturday, planned a great show.

The artist will begin his performance lying on a sand bed, which will become a real storm: the grains will rotate around him like a golden tornado.

A complex effect must be done and that is due to a Swedish company. The Studio 703 company, based in Saltsjö-Boo, near Stockholm, worked with the singer for the technical part of this service. And it was not an easy task.

Sing without swallowing cork? A challenge

This false storm was created, not from sand, but thanks to fine cork pieces. “One of the technical challenges was how to manipulate the cork and how to turn it,” said Jonas Ek, CEO of the company, BFM Business.

But the company, created in 2019, was not in its first attempt in terms of the scene, since it is behind the performance of Nemo, winner of the 2024 Edition of Eurovision.

“A great ball bearing” and “a fan that blows cork”

To create the illusion of a storm, Studio 703 used centrifugal force. “Liege works with a large rotating container located on the ceiling. The entire machine is made to measure and is based on a large engine bolts driven,” details us.

But before reaching this result, we had to clean the plaster. Studio 703 and Fredrik Benke Rydman, who imagined this performance, had to take it several times. “This is the result of the creative work of engineering and many tests and workshops in collaboration with the choreographer and the artist,” recalls Jonas Ek.

Now it will depend on the spectators to judge whether the visual and vocal performance is there. For its part, the Swedish Jonas Ek promises to “cross the fingers for France on Saturday, even if Barabadabastu (the group that represents Sweden) is also in good position.”
