“We will worsen” to occupy “roundabouts”: the Taxis blande the threat of new blockages

While their representatives will meet with François Bayrou this Saturday afternoon, taxis promise a hardening of the movement if they are not heard.

Taxis mobilization is heated in French cities. Taxi drivers threaten to organize new blockages if they do not obtain their case in the new convention that governs the transport of patients, at the origin of their anger, while their representatives are expected this Saturday at 5 pm in the Ministry of Transportation, in the presence of François Bayrou. Taxis demand the withdrawal of the new agreement and the opening of negotiations to find an exit to the conflict.

In case of failure of the meeting, the president of the FNDT evokes a hardening of the movement, which has lasted almost a week. “We have already extended our mobilizations, either Paris, Pau […] And Marseille, who also arrived there, until May 30, “said Emmanuelle Cordier, and” from Monday and Tuesday, it is a block of Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Orly. “We’ll be related” that occupying roundabouts, he promised, questioned about a mobilization of “yellow vests.”

Price Unification

Taxis’s intervention launched a mobilization on Monday to protest against this project that provides a price unification, now heterogeneous according to the departments. The new system should be based on a treatment of 13 euros per health insurance, then a kilometer rate. It is designed to deter emptiness feedback or waiting times too long.

This price must go into force on October 1. The objective is to limit the growth of health transportation that reached 6.74 billion euros in 2024, including 3.07 billion for approved taxis (a 45% jump since 2019). The reimbursement of the transport of patients with recipe is an essential activity in the billing of certain artisans.
