Energy aid: how the new one-stop shop for companies works

All companies that are not protected by the tariff shield will be able to apply for state aid through a new single window.

The Government will open a single window, by the year 2022, for all companies that have seen their gas or electricity bill explode and that are not covered by the tariff shield.

All companies, both VSE and SMEs, ETI and large groups, will have access to it; bakers, many of whom had been excluded from the rate shield because of the criteria linked to the electric meter, are particularly concerned. Given the criticism of the complexity of the previous aid system, this simplified aid window was built with the U2P and CPME unions and Medef.

To qualify, the electricity or gas bill must have increased by 50% in three months (in 2022 compared to 2021) and the bill must correspond to at least 3% of the billing achieved in 2021. Businesses will then be able to get up to 4 millions of euros in aid.

Ten days to be reimbursed

A simplified file will be enabled to request aid. The company must provide the twelve energy invoices for 2021 as well as the invoices for September and/or October 2022. In addition, the bank details (RIB) of your company, the calculation help file (available on taxes) and a sworn statement attesting to the accuracy of the information – it is not necessary to justify the billing of 2021, the tax administration already has this data.

Additionally, if a company has multiple production sites, energy providers are required to provide a consolidated bill for the sites for 2021 and the months of September and October 2022.

Endive producers, bakeries

For example, a baker who paid 7,500 euros for electricity in September 2021 and saw his bill triple to 22,500 euros in September 2022, will benefit from an aid of 3,938 euros to lower his bill to 15,536 euros this month, that is , 26% of the increase in the bill will be covered by the State.

Another example, an endive producer who has seen his invoice multiply by ten (87,500 euros in September 2022 compared to 8,750 euros a year earlier) will benefit from aid of 26,031 euros, that is, 33% coverage.

If the file is complete, businesses can expect to get a refund ten days after submitting their file. Next January, companies will be able to make their declaration for November and December 2022. For the rest, a change in procedure: in 2023, the State will directly pay between 20% and 30% of the energy bill of companies with electricity providers. Energy. ‘Energy.
