An association of “win-win”: France will launch the production of drones in Ukraine

The Minister of the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, announces associations between automotive and defense industries to produce drones directly in Ukraine.

French automotive and defense companies will produce drones on Ukrainian soil, said French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu, who mentioned an association of “win-win” with kyiv.

“We will embark on a completely new association in which a large company that produces French cars, I do not give the name because it depends on it to announce it, ally with a French defense SME to present production lines in Ukraine to be able to produce drones,” said the LCI channel minister.

These drones, of which the type did not specify, will be destined for the Ukrainians, “but we will also benefit our own French armies so that they have a tactical and operational training that goes out to the reality” of the conflict in Ukraine, he added.

Ukrainians will provide their comments on how they use drones in this war.

“There is no need to ask French citizens” to work in the production chain that will be installed in Ukraine, according to him.

Ukraine intends to use more than 4.5 million drones in 2025, which are 70% responsible for the destruction of enemy equipment in the front.

Fast developments

The French army, which has a few thousand drones, seeks to catch up in the field.

But “the system is still too rigid, too slow, between the moment when the French armies make an expression of necessity and the moment in which we have a delivery of drones,” deplored the minister, who requested a “review of all our drone programs.”

“Clearly, he has ordered a fax or a minitel, except that the Internet time has been invented and has the delivery of his minitel,” he joked.
