The new general director of Stellantis Antonio Filosa will have its headquarters in the United States, while his predecessor Carlos Tavares was in Europe, a group spokesman confirmed on Tuesday. The 52 -year -old Italian Brazilian, appointed on May 28 at the head of the Fourth World Automobile Group, will remain with Detroit headquarters (Michigan), from where he directed the American continent group, Stellantis said, confirming information from the echoes.
It will also be paid in dollars, with an annual basic salary of $ 1.8 million (1.6 million euros), with many bonds. This change is very symbolic for Stellantis, a group created in 2021 with the fusion of the French PSA (Peugeot, Citroën, Opel) and the Fiat-American Fiat-American Fiatsler.
Antonio Filosa “will work around the world”
Europe represents the first group of the group in volume, but achieves most of its profits in North America, where the difficulties in 2024 have precipitated the fall of Carlos Tavares. Antonio Filosa “will work worldwide,” said Stellantis spokesman. The leader also dedicated his first trip after his appointment to the historic Peugeot factory in Sochaux (Doubs).
It must still be officially induced on July 18 during a general shareholders meeting of the group. Meanwhile, the Board of Directors must grant the powers of the Director General as of June 23. Its treatment is accompanied by many bonds linked to different objectives. Already in 2026, for his first full year as managing director, Antonio Filosa could reach a maximum of $ 18 million (15.8 million euros).
This maximum amount must gradually increase to reach 23 million dollars (20.2 million euros) in 2028, a sum of everything that affected by Carlos Tavares in its last year at the head of the group (23.1 million euros).
