China announced on Tuesday the extension of its anti -subume on imports of products based on pork and pork in the European Union, in the context of bilateral commercial disputes. The Asian giant launched this survey in June 2024, shortly after Brussels announced for his desire to impose additional customs tariffs on electric vehicles imported from China.
Electric vehicles
The commercial dispute between Beijing and Brussels intensified last summer when the European Union had acted the principle of customs surcharge in electric vehicles made in China. These additional taxes, which since then have been implemented, can reach 35%. They follow an EU investigation, believing that China’s public subsidies to their automotive companies threatened European car manufacturers.
At the end of 2024, China presented the case to the World Trade Organization (WTO), which agreed at the end of April to establish a group of experts responsible for examining Beijing’s request. A summit between the EU and China must be carried out in July in the Asian country. This meeting could lead to a rebalance of relations between the European and China bloc.
