A Saudia Airlines plane that transported hundreds of pilgrims returning from Saudi Arabia to Java’s island were derived on Saturday after a bomb alert, the second type incident in a week, the Ministry of Transportation and the Police said.
The SV5688 flight from the Saudia airlines had left the Saudi city of Djeddah for the capital of the Mascato de Omanaise before continuing to Indonesia, where I would land in Surabaya, on the island of Java. Pilgrims will resume their trip on Sunday
The head of the regional airport authority, Asri Santosa, said in a statement that the agents had been deployed to inspect the plane after their landing, but that the airport, located on the island of Sumatra, remained operational. The 376 passengers, pilgrims of Hajj de Java, as well as the 13 crew members are safe at the airport, said Sumatra Police spokesman Nord, Ferry Walintukan. The pilgrims will resume their trip on Sunday, said Asri Santosa.
On Tuesday, a plane that transported 442 Pilgrims of the Hajj back from Saudi Arabia to Yakarta had also been confused with Medan after a bomb threat reached by email to the authorities.
