Electro Music: Emmanuel Macron wants to register the French touch in UNESCO

In an interview with Radio FG and broadcast next Monday at 7 pm, the President of the Republic explained that he wanted to imitate Germany, who had integrated a ceiling in 2023 in the intangible heritage of UNESCO.

The President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron said he was in favor of a candidacy of the French touch, which brings together the big names in the French electro music, to the list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO, in an interview in FG Music Radio.

The list of intangible cultural heritage allows the signatory states of the UNESCO Convention to have “practices, representations, expressions, knowledge and knowledge that communities recognize as part of their cultural heritage.”

“We are the inventors of the electro”

On the initiative of an association, Germany had the Berlin Techno integrated into the German intangible heritage list in 2023 as “electronic dance music that has marked large parts of the city since the mid -1980s.”

When asked about this in an interview that will be broadcast on Monday at 7 pm in “Happy Hour” on Radio FG on Monday, a historical technology music station that accompanied the rise of the French touch, Emmanuel Macron replied that it was favorable to do the same in France.

“We are going to do this too! I love Germany, you know how European I am, but we don’t have a lesson to receive! We are electro’s inventors, we have this French touch,” he replied.

Born in the 1990s, around names such as Daft Punk, Justice, Air, Laurent Garnier or Jean-Michel Jarre, tricolor electronic music was a great international success, helping to give their letters of nobility to the genre. The informal label continues to designate the artists of Electro and French DJ in sight.

France has already performed a multitude of cultural practices listed, a multitude of cultural practices in UNESCO, including the bread wand in 2022, but also the French tradition, the aromas of Grasse, the Breton Fest-Noz or the Guadeloupe Gwoka Music and the song of the meeting.
