The president of Mexico threatens to continue with Spacex for pollution caused by his rockets

Complaints will also be presented due to the fall in the rubble of Elon Musk’s rockets.

The Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum, threatened Wednesday to take legal actions due to the fall in the debris and the pollution caused by Spacex Rocket launches to the other side of the border in the United States.

The Mexican government is studying which international laws are breaking to present “the necessary complaints” because “in fact there is pollution,” said Claudia Sheinbaum during his morning press conference.

Last week, a Spacex Rocket spacecraft exploded in its fire passage during a fire test on fire, at the Elon Musk space project located in Texas, near the Mexican border.

A video of the explosion shows the rocket, high as a building of around 40 floors and the most powerful ever designed, on a gigantic fire ball.

Criticism

The Mexican authorities “review” the environmental impact of rocket launches for the state of Tamaulipas (Northeast), neighbor of Texas, said the manager.

Environmental associations filed a complaint in 2023 against US authorities, accusing them of having misused the impact of these releases, while the Spacex space base in Texas is located near protected natural areas.

Despite these criticisms, the American aviation regulator, the FAA, gave its green light in early May to increase the launch rate of the spacecraft, 5 to 25 annual flights.

A legal action would constitute a new legal confrontation between Mexico and a large American company.

In May, the Sheinbaum government announced the prosecution against Google for changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the American Gulf for users of the Google Maps application in the United States by aligning a decision of Donald Trump.
