The Kremlin said Friday, July 18 that he would make sure to “minimize” the consequences of the European sanctions that have just announced, promising that they would have “negative effects” for the countries that imposed them.
“Of course, it will be necessary to analyze the new package (of sanctions, editor’s note) to minimize the consequences,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov reacted, during his daily session in which AFP participated. “But, in addition to that, each new package adds a negative effect for the countries that bind,” he added.
“We adapt to life under sanctions”
Russia, however, “already acquired a certain immunity,” he said. “We adapt to life under sanctions.”
The EU strengthened its sanctions against Moscow this Friday, pointing to the Russian oil gain, hoping that the United States will join soon, if Vladimir Putin persisted in his offensive against Ukraine, launched in 2022.
This penalty package, 18 since the beginning of the conflict, is “one of the most severe against Russia to date,” said European diplomacy Kaja Kallas.
