The number of hiring statements for more than a month (excluding intermediate) recorded an increase of 1.9% in the second quarter compared to the previous quarter, Ussaf said Wednesday.
This result, with almost 2.35 million hiring in the second quarter, confirms that “the slight inflection in the increase began in the previous quarter (+0.4%), which succeeds several consecutive quarters of decrease since mid -2022,” the body said in a press release.
This increase is caused by “the dynamism of contracting statements in permanent contracts”, in strong acceleration ( +4.5% after +2% in the anterior quarter). On the contrary, CDD statements of more than a month continue their withdrawal (-0.8% after -1.2%). The proportion of CDI in the hiring of more than a month is, therefore, 52.4%, or “a level never reached,” said USSAF.
An increase in hiring mainly in services
The increase in hiring statements in the second quarter of 2025 refers to both companies with less than 20 employees (+3.4%) and larger structures (+0.9%).
By the sector, the increase in the second quarter is carried out mainly by the increase in the tertiary sector (+2.7%). In the industry, the number of hiring statements of more than a month is falling (-2.2%) after stabilizing in the previous quarter. In the building, the decrease continues (-1.9% after -1.5%).
For a year, the decreases reached -5.1% in the industry and -5.7% in the building, while the tertiary sector has an increase of 1.5%.
