Mockery that saw verbal violence: the stationery of the bank of France questioned after the suicide of an employee

An independent report of the technology firm indicates in particular the hard work and verbal violence.

An independent report, ordered after the suicide of an employee of the Banquera stationery of France located in Vic-Le-Comte, in Puy-de-Dôme, and consulted by AFP, lists the dysfunctions of this subsidiary and the psycho-social risks they have led.

This document was presented in July to the Social and Economic Committee (CSE) of the subsidiary in question, Europefi. It was produced by the technology firm.

The authors point out in particular the arduous work of certain positions and the “construction defect” of Europefi with the cohabitation of two statutes: the historical agents of the bank of France, made available to the subsidiary, and the personnel hired since 2015 in a private law contract, less advantageous.

“Insufficient” prevention

The “iniquity” of this situation translates into mockery among employees who “often saw denigration or even verbal violence,” continue with the authors of the report.

The latter also informs “discomfort” of supervision, “that seem frequent and can lead to moving conflicts.”

All these elements pushed technology to conclude that Europefi’s situation “is conducive to psycho-social risks.”

The employee in question (who was a historical employee) recently separated from his partner, from which he had been the hierarchical manager of Europefi.

Very tense social context

Questioned this week by AFP, the bank retains the report, however, that among employees on private law contracts, 76% declared themselves satisfied with their professional situation.

The relationship is lower for historical employees, a situation that the bank has “taken into account” and “analysis.”

Europefi had tried, in vain, at the beginning of the year to block the celebration of this study by dragging its own CSE before the courts, refuting the increase in psycho-social risks within it.

The Management of the Banking of France and its main union, the CGT, have opposed for several months for personal and professional reasons that led the employee to suicide last November.

Two other employees of the Banking of France had finished their days in June 2023.
