Consumer prices in France increased by 1% in July for a year, as in June, promoted by food and services prices, Insee announced on Thursday in a provisional estimate.
In detail, food prices increased by 1.6% compared to July 2024 and those of Services 2.5. On the contrary, energy prices fell 7.2% and those of manufactured products of 0.2%.
For a month, consumer prices increased by 0.2%, explained by the seasonal increase in services, especially transport and accommodation, and to a lesser extent due to an increase in energy prices, the National Statistics Institute also said in a press release.
The IPCH (harmonized index to make comparisons at European level) amounts to 0.9% for a year. This makes France one of the EU countries where inflation is the weakest, while IPCH was still 2.7% a year ago.
