Netanyahu’s “difficult to understand” military plan: Germany will suspend the weapons exports that Israel could use in Gaza

The German Chancellor announced Friday that Germany would suspend the exports of the weapons that Israel could use in Gaza.

The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced on Friday the suspension of weapons exports that Israel could use in Gaza, after the announcement of the Israeli plan for the control of the Palestinian city.

It becomes “increasingly difficult to understand” how the Israeli military plan would achieve its objectives in the Gaza Strip and “in these circumstances, the German government does not allow even more notification, the exports of military equipment that will probably be used in the Gaza Strip,” said Friedrich Merz, cited in a press release.

This decision marks a great change of the German government limit, one of the most faithful allies, with the United States, of Israel due to Germany’s historical responsibility in the Holocaust. “The German government remains deeply concerned about the continuous suffering of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip,” added Friedrich Merz.

“An even greater responsibility”

“With the planned offensive, the Israeli government has even greater responsibility” regarding civil aid in the Palestinian territory, he continued, reiterating his appeal in favor of total access for “UN organizations and other non -governmental institutions.”

The international community is increasingly concerned with the sufferings of the Palestinians in Gaza, where an evaluation backed by the United Nations has warned against famine. “The German government is urging the Israeli government not to take new measures to annexed the West Bank,” added the German Foreign Minister.
