President Donald Trump said Monday that gold would not be subject to the new tasks of US customs, after an official document sowed the disorder last week and promoted the precious metal to a record.
“Erroneous information”
According to an update of the American customs, detailed in a document dated July 31, but it was made public on Friday, the golden bears of a kilogram and those of 100 ounces were classified as subject to customs tasks, while investors thought they were exempt.
Later, the White House said it was planning “to publish a decree in the near future to clarify erroneous information on the taxes of the gold bars and other specialized products,” according to the statements of an official to the AFP.
However, the latter had not said if he implied that the bullions were going to remain exempt.
