A factory of the American company of Electronics Flex located in western Ukraine in Moukatchevo, was affected by a Russian strike, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, August 21, announced the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ukrainians, Andril Sybiha, in a message published in X.
“In contradiction with the efforts made to end the war, Russia launched a massive air attack in Ukraine that night,” writes Andril Sybiha, adding that “one of the missiles hit an important manufacturer of US electronic products.”
“This is not the first Russian strike against an American company in Ukraine,” added the minister, who remembers that Russian attacks have already attacked Boeing offices in kyiv this year.
A factory without “link with defense or army”
The Flex American was “completely civil” and had “no connection with the defense or the army,” said Andril Sybiha. An affirmation confirmed by a factory employee, interviewed by the Ukrainian newspaper The Kyiv Independent.
According to local authorities, at least 19 people were injured in Moukatchevo’s attack. Photos and videos shared on social networks, especially Andril Sybiha, show significant damage to the factory facilities. In one of them, you can see an important black smoke plume that escapes the flexible factory affected by a Russian strike.
According to the employee interviewed by Kyiv Independent, around 800 people work at night at the Flex factory in Moukatchevo. However, they were able to take refuge before the Russian strike thanks to an alert.
