Pension reform, drop in VAT … The CGT asks electricity and gas employees to a 24 -hour renewable strike

The union is the only one to call the strike, without an initial link with the call to the mobilization of September 10, but does not exclude an extension until this date.

The CGT asks all electricity and gas employees to attack on Tuesday, a 24 -hour renewable movement, in the long term, planned for the issue of salaries and energy prices and not related to demonstrations against the Executive.

The union requires the repeal of the last pension reform, a fall in VAT from 20% to 5.5% in gas and electricity invoices and a certain number of salary measures, such as alignment with the minimum wage of the salary grid, currently 9% lower than the minimum wage and a revaluation of compensation compensation, in particular.

The CGT is the only one to call a strike. Certain unions, such as CFDT, share a part of these concerns, regarding the branch remuneration network, but the organization of the third union of the sector wants at this stage “discuss with employers”, before considering other types of actions.

Modalities to be defined

If they are not linked to the beginning, the so-called “citizen” to “block everything” on September 10 “and our renewable notice of 2 does not oppose, on the contrary,” said Coudour, general secretary of the FNME-CGT. He believes that the call to block could be registered “in the renewal of the movement” of electricians and gas, if it extended.

Regarding the methods of action, “things will be decided collectively in general meetings” organized on Tuesday morning, said Fabrice Coudour, evoking possible “blockages” at the entrance to energy production sites.

“Employers seem to be worried,” said colleagues Mathieu Pineau. The CGT provides a point on the advances obtained for Thursday, September 4. The union will decide to give the movement.
